Should earth be kept pristine?

Good question, and one that should have a straight forward answer.

My answer is that you should be responsible and be prepared to live with what you create. If you want a nice house in a clean environment, don't expect others to opt for any lower standard. I don't expect a citizen of China (or anywhere else) to settle for a lower standard of living then I do. If we all consume the same amount of resources as the average USA citizen, there will be more problems.

Yes, I would very much like to live in a clean environment and use renewable resources as my only source of power. I would like to see both the land and sea utilized in a sustainable way. Yes I am prepared to change my lifestyle by some considerable amount to achieve such a result.

Not everybody thinks the same as I do though.
