You left out the part where I expressed unions of nations with common interests, this as an alternative to larger nations. The UN would still work with both individuals nations and unions of nations. And I'm not sure the states of America would actually move into a war state. Look at the border of New Hampshire and Massachusetts, i.e., liquor, tobacco, fireworks and chiropractic sales--they never duked it out--lol! Interestingly, both states have a crossing of residents who move from one state to the other.
