Green card holders will have to wait for at least 6+ years before they can get citizenship. During that time, they could be sending their kids to school, paying income taxes, social security and medicare taxes, sales taxes and property taxes. I see it is only fair that they are allowed to vote at least in municipal elections, mayoral elections, school board elections etc.

If you have any idea of this country's history, there can be no taxation without representation. So if you want non-citizens not to vote, you make them exempt from taxes. If they can't vote in the Federal/state/local elections, then they should be exempt from federal/state/local taxes as applicable.
