New Hampshire's state slogan is "Live free or die."
How apt.

but 'due process' being 'key'

If they can require you to buy an health insurance policy, then they can also require you to buy a gallon of milk per day, a guard dog for your home, vitamin pills, a satellite radio, fuzzy rear-view-mirror dice. It doesn't make any sense to me. If they want to, instead, tax you to raise money for the program, then they can do so. But there's something really off about telling people that they can't pay their own medical bills out of their own pockets if that's what they choose to do, but rather have to carry insurance.
