We've had the same thing here as well, J. The PI in Seattle was always known as a "scandal rag", and years ago, the Seattle Times was at least a paper that tried to get the stories as unbiased as possible. The PI went under, the ST bought their editorial page, and the ST has that plus their own. The ST is very poor indeed. When we were in Singapore a few years ago, it was SO refreshing to see a paper that at least had international news and that was no where near as biased as the ST.
