It's important not to use 9/11 as an excuse to make stupid decisions. 9/11 didn't change the nature of reality. Bad things happen because of terrorists, that doesn't change the nature of warfare between countries. Using non state actors as a justification for changing the accepted rules of welfare is ridiculous.

Starting wars without a reason to start a war in advance is simply a bad idea- it's bad because it sets bad precedents we would not want other countries using, and it's bad because it gets the US into unnecessary wars- when there could be necessary ones on the horizon that we will not be prepared for, because we are embroiled in a war we did not need to fight. Even after 9/11 it's not ok to read the tea leaves and use that as a casus belli and say "He would have got us later if..."

If a country chooses to abandon reason because of a terrorist event then that county has already allowed terrorists to win the battle. Even post 9/11 the sun comes up in the morning, the sky is still blue, planes still fly- and would fly whether we invaded Iraq or not, because Iraq has nothing to do with 9/11, and the rules of warfare should still require an actual event, rather than bad guesses, or even good guesses.

Bush was warned about 9-11 on 8-6-01 and did nothing.
He then promised us that he'd avenge those who brought down those buildings, but five years later Osama is still alive and well and the Taliban are coming back strong in southern Afghanistan with the help of the Pakistanis who Bush paid off then trusted. Bush also made Iraq, Iran and Palestine many times as dangerous and has cost us over 20,000 US casualties and maybe up to 2 trillion in new debt, just to make us less safe. Bush also wants to hand out major ports over to an Arab country which supported the Taliban.

The Bush family and the Bin laudens go way back, and the Bushes have made a lot of money off the BL's. Maybe there's a connection. Think so?
