There were no legit reasons to go to war as Bush did. None. If you believe so, you are either a fool or a liar. No more reason than there was to invade Vietnam. But at least in those days we had semi-competent commanders in chief. And LBJ stepped down, showing he was an honorable man who acknowledged his gross sins. Bush is going to have to be dragged out of power kicking and screaming.

Your "rationality" is your dedication to your opinion. What you don't seem to understand is that your "principle" of using "intent" - isn't one you would want other countries using to depose leaders and invade sovereign states. Obviously you trust Mr. Bush to use the "intention" dogma, but do you want China using it? I am not ignoring anything. I am weighing the data differently than you do. Roll your eyes all you want, it just shows how pointless this whole exchange was- and I knew it would be so. I don't know why you keep posting to me, really, on this topic. I understand that we disagree because we are willing to accept very different levels of proof, and very different bases for war. There are fewer and fewer of the "we" in your last sentence every day. Reading the tea leaves I suggest to you that the military action Mr. Bush has taken in Iraq will be proved by history to be a mistake for the US, and a grave one. I predict you will be on the losing side of history with your beliefs. Now as I said, I wouldn't go to war over a prediction, and I don't even plan on rolling my eyes at you (what's the point?). And as for your list of liberal groupthink, you are wrong that I believe all that- but it doesn't really matter. You talk a good game about honesty and logic, but it doesn't actually show up in your posts- as that list- which you attribute to me- shows me very clearly. What a sad waste of time this has been.
