WRONG! Islamo-fundamentalists will NEVER FAIL as long as greed and corruption exists. And no bigger leader in GREED and CORRUPTION than the Bush neoCONs, the republican congress and the Zionists. Your HYPOCRISY DISGUSTS ME! You have no clue what democracy even is, you little fascist puppet.

But the strong Prussian militaristic streak and German nationalism played an equally, if not stronger, role in bringing Hitler to power and fueling his ambitions.

It would not have been sufficient by itself, if Germany had been integrated in post WWI europe. Ethnic and religious motivations (or political ideology) can cause great havoc, but they usually require some more or less stressful conditions to enable action.

How many times do I have to say this. I understand that EVENTUALLY Islamo-Fascism, like Communism, will fail when the societies who look to it for nationalistic or religious inspiration realize that it cannot provide them what they desire.

Good, we agree there.

But WHAT I'M SAYING IS.. why do we, and they, have to suffer through this?

And there I agree that shorter is better.

It's not necessary, if only we're prepared to confront and advance an alternative that can equally inspirational and appealing, namely individual rights and accountable government.

But you went astray in the above. My belief is that confrontational methods prolong, rather than shorten the time it takes for change. During the cold war, both sides adopted a militaristic mindset which set back the clock by decades. I can't prove this, but the mechanisms are clear. The average American viewed Communists with fear and loathing, and as near as I can tell, the average Communist had the same view of the West. Prolonging that by decades filled with numerous little proxy wars in Africa, Central and South America, and Asia did not help. It merely made it more difficult to change.

I'd vote for anyone running for Pres if they made a commitment to normalize relations with Cuba, simply to see this tried.

If we spent half the effort that totalitarian regimes do, in advancing and supporting democratic movements in these developing countries, we'd possibly be able to avoid the pain of failed totalitarian and charismatic megalo-maniacal governments inflicting suffering upon the world.

At $50K/year x 50K people, we could spend only $2.5B/year to run our opponents through the best indoctrination sources we have: our graduate schools and business internships. It would be far more effective than 10x that much spent on the military.

The Palestinians, and their corrupt leadership, are primarily responsible for their lot. The rest of the responsibility lies with the various Arab states who have manipulated them as pawns in their own game of regional domination and internal political support.

When I look at the proposed maps for the West Bank wall and consider the population dynamics, I see only unending conflict. For what I consider obvious reasons. As long as the USA backs that sort of deal, we will also have unending conflict, with people like you totally unable to understand why. You will never solve a problem if you are incapable identifying the cause.
