We cant do that. Its presumptuos to think we can. We are faced with the same ME that churchill dealt with. We have advanced light years while they at best march in place. Better than civilizing them , our prime directive should be to make them economically viable. That i think is a pre-req for what you want. Back to Marxian analysis for me on this one. In asia, i once wrote in my Masters Thesis , that he who could provide the bowl of rice on every table would be the winner. Once the bowls were full, human nature would be for them to want more freedom. I hoped communism hadnt found a way to prevent this forever. Look at china and vietnam today and then tell me why we fought for puppets back then. Now apply that logic to iraq and iran--whats needed is home grown solutions and a populace concentrating on that bowl of rice. Yeah i know about islamic whackos.

There are too many that don't WANT to understand that, J. Unfortunately. It is interesting to me though, that so many people who oppose being in Iraq, seem to be alright with the dictator concept, the abuse of women in every respect, the killing of citizens without true trials, the maiming of so many people, because their ideas are different, etc etc etc.
