Nothing much changes, long term. We are still screwed because of all the damage of the last 6 years.Especially in time sensitive areas like climate change and peak oil. They screwed us.

Short term, IMPEACH :>)
And, with a little bit of luck, lots of jail time for lots of people.

It depends on which democrats. A populist reformer would be different from the Republican Lite DLCs Dems.

I'm sick to death of the half-assed measures of both parties. We need to immediately withdraw from Iraq, take global warming seriously, take the money out of campaigns and out of public offices and jobs, stop the outsourcing of jobs, prescribe national healthcare and become competitive again.

It's astonishing that we're watching the potential bankruptcy of GM (exactly who picks up the pensions?) while putzing around in Iraq for nothing. It's doubly astonishing that we're wondering whether it's politically feasible to watch Greenland melt (or ignore it) while claiming it's everyone else's fault when hurricane season starts in less than 60 days.

We've gone nuts. IMO, we're in such big trouble that nothing short of a revolution in business as usual will save us from becoming an also-ran.

The US going down the tubes doesn't help the rest of the world either. Can you imagine a world where China is the dominant political and economic influence?

Egads.
