What did Intel do for Dell?

They sell to dell at below market rates for volume. Thats why dell can't go with AMD, because intc will eliminate the extra margin Dell gets if Dell moves to something other than an intc-only shop.

Dell is between a rock and a hard place really, with wintel declining. They can't do anything radical. The Google toolbar is now the first thing you see when you boot up a new Dell, but there was no PR about it, I am certain Dell doesn't want to advertise it.

Today Rollins announced Dell can do 100 billion in business in the next decade. Well thats fine except with profit margins at 4% they are looking at making as much, then, as GOOG is doing on 10 billion revenue. Dell is in a race to the bottom that they engineered themselves.
