I powered down this winter.

I used about twenty gallons of propane. Never lit the pilot on the heater. Used more electricity because it was cheaper. Neighbor and I cut wood in the fall. He still has two and a half cords stacked outside his door. Heated his house all winter with it. I don't like burning wood so I kept it about 50 at night.

Used lots of blankets. Got my solar panels out a couple of weeks ago. Put in a battery box in the shed to hold them and the inverter system. Hope to finish that up when spring breaks and the mud disappears.

Still have most of the diesel I stored before the last fuel shock and hope to burn it up in the tractor in the next few weeks putting in the new garden area. Bought a one way disk five foot wide x 24" diameter. I hope the little 28 hp John Deere with loader will pull it. Gonna break out about an acre of virgin ground. Has not been broken out in 40 years. Went back to sagebrush and grass. Lots of compost and it will be fertile enough for potatoes and winter squash up the you know what.

Salvaged miles of plastic years ago off construction sites. going to cover the rows to keep out the grass the first year. Outta do real fine. Pulled out the walls o' water and cleaned them up. Have 50 of em for plants. I put tomatoes and my own specially grown plants..... in them.

Did not grow a crop last year but this year expect a bumper harvest. Need some better seeds tho.

Looking forward to the earthworm trenches. Always wanted to grow about a ton of earthworms. This is the year for that. Gotta order a couple of pounds of earthworm seeds.

Can u tell? I got spring fever and nothing but snow to treat it with........
