I expect that by "impact" you mean bad tidings for Intel, and sugar plums for AMD. No ?

I think the jostling for revenue share will go for a couple of years. And the results will depend on which of the two can lower unit costs such that they can drop prices while preserving margin. I understand AMD fans expect APM to do the magic for them.

I have a question on APM, maybe should be directed to Dan3.

As etchmeister pointed out, AMD did not have many fabs. However, they did have a fab for flash. Was APM used in the flash production ? Did they benefit from that ? How did AMD's results compare to Intel's ?
