a19,

Great play! I'm sure your son made it look "accidental" when he tagged the runner out so as not to embarrass him. <G>

Its great when the kids AND the parents are relaxed and enjoy themselves in little league. I've been lucky to coach with other dads that have a similar approach to mine, and we always seem to have a good time with our kids. I still read and hear about too many little league horror stories (coaches and parents that take themselves too seriously), but haven't seen much of it up close since I played myself many moons ago.

My dad coached our team, and it was a team that was put together as a result of having a bunch of kids that were not selected for other teams....definitely a Bad News Bears team.

So Dad is hitting balls to the infield and telling everyone what to do in certain situations..etc. He looks at the kid on 2nd, says "OK Jeff, There is a man on first and third, two outs, a grounder gets hit to you, what do you do?"

Jeff thinks long and hard and says "I'll miss it."

Dad had an old Studebaker pickup, and we went to Dairy Queen after almost every practice...if we waited to go after wins, we'd never get there.
