Hawkmoon says that he is/was a contractor in Iraq. I think that some portion or all of it is tax free income.

It's the profit-making motive for war. It's also inefficient, ineffective, blundering and corrupt beyond all reckoning. Not only does our Ambassador keep saying (he should just admit it) that Iraq is heading towards civil war (regional now, not just in the country), there's still no explanation for the massive corruption including the $8 billion missing under the CPA.

Privatizing war makes about as much sense as privatizing medicare, social security and many other functions of a progressive government.
