I'd like to see the statistics on that - or is this just a casual observation? I think so.

I think there are hard core gamers and soft core gamers.

Anyway I don't think anyone here thinks Apple is in a position to get ALL of the PC people to switch. All they need is a good 30% or so.

Agreed Don. Gamers do spend for the latest and fastest graphics cards around and they are not available for Macs today, if ever.
This has been one of my biggest gripes with Apple.

You're talking about the Ferrari owners. The vast majority of gamers just own or use common, ordinary machines. A HUGE number of them are just kids, using the boxes their parents bought them for school. I've been a "gamer" forever. The LAN parties I've been involved in were on the company LAN after work on very ordinary machines. Maybe I'm not a "REAL" gamer to YOU, but I represent most of the gamer's I'VE ever known.

>>PC Gamers HATE MAC, most gamers like to totally build their machines to their own specs from MB up. Price is rarely an issue. In fact the latest enhancement for gamers are called Physics Engine boards. I don't see them in any Mac any time soon.<<

Don -

There are some gamers who fit that profile, but there are a lot of more casual PC gamers, too, who buy "off the rack" PCs.

As usual, you have labeled a group of people a "cult" and decided that they are all exactly alike. You don't understand gamers any better than you understand Mac users.
