That's not my point either.

I'm not claiming the wealthy get special subsidies, although many do.

I'm claiming that the wealthy owe their wealth to the system of government and the social structure here, and therefore they have benefited greatly because they are in an environment where they could become wealthy. For that they ought pay the upkeep of that environment in proportion to the wealth they have gained from it.
