No, I didn't ignore the Kurds. If two-thirds of present day Iraqi Shites withdraw into a new nation, that would leave one-third of those Shites remaining behind in the new democracy. This would approximate a closer demographic population of Kurds, Sunnis and Shites--thus, making a democracy possible as each of the three groups would compete for the best ideas.
