The guard might have had some other warnings that caused their dismissal. If not, it does not appear to be fair.

Many, It shouldn't have made any difference whose rifle it was, the guard should have confiscated it, and let the higher ups sort it out later. But the main thing to me is, that the guy you knew used aggressiveness to cow the guard was an unwarranted action, and he should have been punished in some way. People that think they are more important than the law, are on my SH-- list anyway.
