That's perfectly true. Still, they believe they are true to the faith as laid down in the Torah. At least they are true to something, they didn't just make up the religion to suit themselves. Unfortunately for them, events in the real world overtook them so now they have to carry on as if the State of Israel doesn't exist. I am sorry my friend, but you are gravely mistaken. Events in the real world did not just overtake the Jews by accident and to no purpose! If the Jews are God's chosen, and the apple of His eye, as they presume to claim, then how is it that God would command them to observe a law in a very specific way, and then not provide the means by which they should observe it? If that is how God allegedly treats His chosen, the apple of His eye, how much worse for his enemies! I will tell you precisely how. God ordained that the Jews could not observe the Law outside of Jerusalem, and then subsequently cast them out of their land and shut them out for the last 1900 years, just to demonstrate that their carnal observance of the Mosaic law was destined to cease after the coming of the Messiah Jesus Christ. When the Law was still in effect they were lazy and slothful and did not strive to keep the Law. When Christ came to fulfill the Law in Himself, establishing a new and better Law, built on better promises, making the old Law obsolete, now they make a pretense of wishing to strive to keep it! You see how these "Torah-Jews" are always fighting against God? When they were supposed to keep the Law they willfully chose not to. Now that they are not supposed to keep the Law any longer, they pine and cry that they aren't given the chance to keep it properly! This is why the proto-martyr Stephen called them stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and in ears. The holy prophet Daniel understood the Law and didn't dare to observe the feast of unleavened bread and Passover outside of Jerusalem, and God blessed him for that. St. Daniel is revered properly in the Orthodox Church to this day. The Jews blaspheme his holy name by presuming to sacrifice a passover everywhere throughout the world for nearly the last 2,000 years, CONTRARY to the Torah, when Christ our true passover has been sacrificed for us. The height of madness! They most certainly did make up their religion to suit themselves!
