They don't need the dollars sent back as much as the need the same level of industry put into their own domestic economy

somehow i don't think vicente fox would agree...i read that mexico 'migrant' remittances topped $20B last year, second only to oil revenue

Do you have any concept of the total dollar amount of illegal drugs shipped into the US with the approval and backing of the US powers that be? This is all tax free. A loose border insures the trade will continue unabated. This is just one example of the fleecing of the middle and lower classes of the US population. For this reason(among others) there is zero probability of reform in Mexico, much less the USA. Per Frontline it is estimated at 60 billion/year. pbs.org
