The Chinese did not contribute to CLinton's campaign, at least not with Clinton's knowledge. CLinton has never been found guilty of any unethical campaign financing. The one case I know about was brought by a convicted swindler put up to it by the GOP and got thrown out of court.

It's true there were some Chinese-American millionires giving money to the democrats in those days and some of them turned out to be not what they claimed, but that is completely different from the Bush GOP which deliberate recruits big corporate donors and basically offers them legislation in exchange for millions of dollars in contributions.

Look at the Medicare bill for instance. Or any of the bills affecting energy and the environment. All written in tandem with lobbyists who arrived checks in hand.

>>Although if I recall correctly clinton did sign over control of the Panama Canal to Chinese....not sure if carter way back had something to do with the original plan to turn over Panama control to the Chinese...sounds like something carter would do.<<

Lorne -

You do not recall correctly. The Panama Canal was turned over to the Panamanians.

So why doesn't Bush invade Panama? Why not? Because Bush agrees that foreign countries should operate our ports, even countries accused of being terrorist sanctuaries. His father invaded Panama and had no concern for the canal apparently.

BTW: The US never had to right to own Panama to begin with.
but we still have a major military presence there so in effect we do controls it, if we want to.

Also: Why hasn't Bush invaded Cuba? That would easy for him to do.

Also: Why did Bush ignore the 8-6-01 warning about Osama being about to strike, and why did he let the cease fire be called at Tora Bora enabling Osama to escape?

Bush is not what you think he is. He does what mega corporations want, especially big oil, not what we want. or rightwing hawks want. So Bushb is not a conservative, he is a pimp for certain mega corporate special interests, especially gas gougers and war profiteers.
