"The FOX Report had a segment on the salmon fishing issue. They had comments from two fishermen who say that there livelihoods would be ruined, and spent most of the segment talking about the economic impact of the ban. A short comment on what environmentalists say, sandwiched in the middle of all the pro-fisherman comments."

That is what the real story is. That you get the environmental view EVERYWHERE else is more telling than your silly example here. They are shutting down a very robust salmon season that MANY folks rely on in hopes that a few specific fish going to just one of our rivers (the Klammath). It really is a bit ridiculous, and based on your synopsis it looks like Fox has it correct.

But you probably think the salmon are equal to humans and that we have no right to eat them.

"but no one representing PETA"

When they compare people and the suffering of African Americans as slaves to animals that we eat for our health they don't deserve to be on the show. It is a ridiculous analogy at best. Racist at worst.
