Can you cite another instance where highly classified documents were declassified via a hearsay third-party to a select journalist?

And the almighty question for ya: What if Clinton had Gore's chief of staff do exactly the same thing--would you be feeling and writing the same?

President or Vice president didnt release it, scooter libby did upon being told by dick that george said it was ok.
And it was classified at the time and probably immmediately declassified when they realized the mistake they or just cheney had made.
Of course the only leak you would recognize Vanderlay is the wet spot on the front of your pants. Wear the Depends next time when you leak.
