Even more significant was his lack of veracity in purposefully defrauding the military by deceiving me, both in concealing his anti-military activities overseas and his counterfeit intentions for later military service. These actions cause me to question both his patriotism and his integrity.

We were all worried, J. Vietnam War was never funded properly. Johnson and MacNamara felt the war was necessary, but didn't push the Democrat House and Senate nor explain exactly why....so our men and women were rationed bullets...and most everything else. It was a terrible time in the US.

GWB and the current Administration understand the lessons learned from that era....If we have to go to war, our Military must be funded well.

I did everything legal i could to avoid the draft. Finally i was saved by the only lottery i ever won. No one wanted to be drafted. Either you avoided or joined depending on your beliefs and your level of fear. But no one wanted to be drafted. Thats the way it was back then. I will always feel guilt over those who went in my place but i still would not volunteer for that war and i still would have taken exactly the same actions to avoid the draft. That war sucked and it was clear early on. Iraq is very different but as time goes by is moving in the direction where folks dont want to go. Since there is no draft i am talking about the volunteers. And contrary to vanderlay and klps bull shit, failure has very little to do with MSM or feckless democrats but has everything to do with Rummy and the bill of good he sold us. Others wouldnt have gone in and others would have fought the war differently. Perhaps either of the others provided a better solution than rummy. Did anyone read his critique of condis comments on tactical errors? Condi did get it wrong because the mistakes were strategic but in any case rummys response was incoherent. The son of a bitch has alzheimers but bush remains loyal.
