Then why didn't he say so AT THAT time? Why pretend he was looking for the perp, when that person was himself. Why speak of it as though it were a crime? why'd he immediately hire a criminal attorney outside of the WH? "Did the President authorize Libby's actions before Libby actually revealed the classified information to Miller, or afterward? "

Bush didn't authorize the release of Valerie Plame's employment* - he authorized the declassification and release of a National Intelligence Estimate.

*I'm not sure that was a secret though as she had not been an agent for years.
