There was no evidence Saddam tried to assassinate Bush Sr. That was a baseless charge. This is a Bushie myth that they've repeated many times hoping to make it become "true".

I've read the investigative reports on that rumor, and it turns out Saddam did nothing of the sort. Saddam was a bad guy, but was not an imminent threat to us.

Re babysitting them forever. I agree. I do think we need to transition security to Iraqi forces over time and expect that will be done.

The bulk of casulties now are Iraqi, not Coalition personnel.

I also think its very important that we do not do anything that appears as an act of retreat (which is advocated by many Democrats today). We made that mistake in Lebanon and Somalia. And we absorbed Al Qaeda's early attacks with no effective retaliation.

A lot of people have gotten ideas that America can be defeated if it is hit hard enough or bled enough. That belief encourages our enemies to make more attacks and is very dangerous for us.

Am logging off now for the day. Adios everyone.
