>>>The peace is not won yet.<<<

I think it's a delusion to think America is going to win "peace" in Iraq. America, unfortunately and largely due to Republican policy, is universally hated throughout not only Iraq but the entire Middle East.

You seriously think "we're" gonna win the peace there?

I have a friend who was born in Iraq. His father and brother were both killed by Saddam. He was scheduled to be killed the next day--The three of 'em were in Saddam's prison. On the day my friend was going to be executed the Shite uprising happened and he got free, with all the remaining prisoners of the jail. He took up arms in the uprising until it was quelled. He ended up in a refugee camp along with many, eventually winding up in Australia and then America.

You'd think he hates Saddam. He does!

But then Bush "W" started bombing Iraq. The bombing killed his mother and his sister. You'd think my friend hates Bush. He does!

But as strong as his hatred was for Saddam, my friend always belived the US invasion of Iraq was a mistake--and this was before his mother and sister got killed in the bombing.

He's a great person--a hard worker, always friendly and caring for others. He saved up enough money to get his only direct family member, his other sister, out of Iraq. She now lives safely in Europe.

Just thought I'd recount this story as it goes to heart of the feelings behind what we've all been debating about. It places a human edge in the matter, just as does the woe of the Gold Star Mother in America!!!

Bush-Cheney do have the oil, for Halliburton, Kuwait, Exxon and other cronies, but not for us, as they promised. The Bushie spin machine promised us before the invasion that Iraqi oil would pay for everything. I specifically remember Hannity promising that, and Hannity gets his marching orders from the RNC.

Instead, who knows what's happening to the Iraqi oil money? Very possible it's being stolen by Bush-Cheney's compadres. And that my friend is very much worth invading a lesser country for, to steal hundrerds of billions of their oil, and steal a mid-term election while they're at it. Plus more than 10 billion carte blanche contracts for Halliburton.

You are a fool if you think the war was won. Just as big a fool as Bush was with his Mission Accomplished photo op and Cheney promising us the war would only take weeks or months. Fools and crooks and liars.
