I disagree. I think most drug users simply want to escape the realities of life around them. Like the reality of being a millionaire football player or a Hollywood movie star, or maybe the realities of being a white upper middle class high school student... The last two US presidents tried illegal drugs. Except for my extremely religious nieces and my husband's elderly parents, I don't know anyone in the US over the age of 25 and under the age of 65 who hasn't tried using illegal drugs.
