There are fewer and fewer military families who believe the Iraq War is a just or smart cause. Some mothers need to hold onto that (false) belief that their son didn't die for a mistake, but it's obvious now (and very tragic) that they did.

This war is no less mistaken than the Vietnam War. Both were waged on phony intel, scare tactics and excuses. Both wars made huge amounts of money for the president's corporate pals. Both wars cost thousands of US lives and made us less safe, not more safe.

The fault for this falls squarely on the shoulders of Bush-Cheney and their defenders and appeasers. Including Lieberman types on the democratic side. Unless that is, it can be proved Lieberman believed phony intel he was being fed by Bushies. Only then would I give him a semi pass.

Leaders like Kerry who voted for war powers with big clear provisos are not to blame. They clearly stated Bush had promised to go to war only as a last resort after all weapons inspections were completed and evidence was found, and they were going to hold Bush's feet to the fire if he broke that promise, which of course he did.
