Especially since they needed our friendship for so many things... like the WTO talks, etc.) TOO BAD, I guess, that they quit saying that stuff once we dared to criticize them for their actions in Chechnya & Grozny. (Those Ruskies are so sensitive! Who would have thought that a little thing like calling their leveling of the nation's CAPITAL via use of artillery a 'scorched earth' tactic would have set them off so? :)
