Prebanning is no longer possible with the new SI system. You have to make at least one post on a thread to be banned. Of course, with the like s of Baker or X, one is all it takes to get banned if you're the wrong (or right) person. Prejudicial? Yeah, they are prehudiced. But we already knew that, didn't we? I'm not fond of long ban lists. As far as I am concerned, they simply show weakness on the part of the moderator and the regulars. The only excuses I consider good for banning is to stop somebody who comes simply to make trouble or engages in racial, religious, etc., posting. I want no part of them.

Solon my thread is more like going to a book club, or some other association of people who aren't looking for ugliness and just want to talk nicely with each other. Post after post of yours on SI demonstrates a willingness on your part to talk about people all over SI when they've done nothing more to you than refuse to associate with you because of your bad behavior which DOES make you unworthy, if people want a nice thread. A quick tip- being even MORE repellent to people is not a way to make them want to talk to you. I'm really sorry you can't play nice; that is either a choice you make, or something you are unable to help- but either way, it makes you poorly suited to a thread where nasty personal remarks are not allowed- as is the case with my thread. It would be nice if we could act as badly as we wanted to, and flame people, and whine, and bitch, and be cruel and personal, and have people forgive us indefinitely even though we don't change our behavior at all, but people aren't like that Solon and I don't see why SI should attempt to make people like that. I don't wish you any harm, and I certainly won't talk about you to others. It is too bad you cannot return the favor, and stick to ideas, rather than attacking your fellow posters on SI.
