The real hijackers in this country are the Bush-Cheney-Rove-Delay bunch. Starting out in 2000 by pretending they were harmless, compassionate moderates with their "humble foreign policy" and wanting to be "the environmental president", with that "miracle" in Texas called No Child Left Behind.

Then on election night, something strange happened. In states called for Gore based on usually 100% accurate exit polls, Bush suddenly comes back to tie, then go slightly ahead. Where? In the state where his brother controls most of the election apparatus and vote counting. And in charge of how many so-called "ex felons" to cut from the rolls. 57,700 of them, thousands of whom weren't even the same person they targeted, just voters with the same name.

Once in power, the Bushies veered to the hard right. Their way or the highway. And the energy gouging was rampant until an alarmed Jeffords switched parties. Suddenly there was an energy surplus and prices plummeted. But Cheney stonewalled on his energy task force papers and the word "terrorism" was not mentioned, even after the 8-6-01 warnings to Bush, even security advisopr Rice never mentioned terrorism on her list of top threats against the US.

We know the rest, how they exploited 9-11 and used it to invade Iraq, used that to swipe the midterms, started smearing all critics including war heros, let their corporate cronies loot our public wealth and environment, and drive up three trillion in new debt in less than 5 years with no end in sight. Also, in Ohio 2004 we had something similar to Florida 2000. The exit polls showed Kerry had won, but suddenly, out of nowhere come 250,000 new Bush votes. Hello Diebold.

Spying on Americans, poor response to Katrina, pandering to wackos on the Scahiavo case, outing a CIA agent, attacking the press, attacking the courts, snubbing congress, giving our ports to Arabs, telling us how great Tom DElay is, etc. etc. Only question is, have they done anything right?

Time for them to go.

Report: U.S. steps up Iran options

Nothing wrong with carrying a big stick, if Hersh is right on this. Iran needs to have some fear about what their drive for nuclear weapons may reap for them. We do not have to do what we are hinting at but we need to make it credible that its under serious consideration. Some of this pressure is to get them onboard in iraq as well particularly in lining up Shiaa for another PM. There is much going on.
