One of the signs of success, by the way, is when private investment is willing to go into countries. The bigger boondoggle comes out of State (and inherited headache since the Dulles Brothers set this up in 1947, under Truman). We have diplomats who sit 'above' all presidents. And, who have cash, galore. These ex-pat diplomats, known as far back as 1955 when the book came out titled "The Ugly Americans" have made their homes in lots of countries handing out scam/aid. It's the life blood of the World Bank and the UN. It's not bad that people ask questions. Questions are always a good thing. But where are the questions that should be headed into democratic headquarters that discusses HOW the democratic party managed to die. IT's been a long, slow suicide. And, how is it possible that come the electioneering season that pits the parties against each other for the November 2004 election; how come the NY Times is guessing it will be Gephardt. And his theme, borrowed from Jimmy Carter, will be "what's wrong with America?" Okay. Bush is gonna have a hard time answering the democrats (if and when there are any debates), because he's going to be bent over laughing. And, what will cause this? Seeing the audience rooting for him in all corners. And, some people holding up signs saying they can't help themselves, but they need to change their Depends.washingtonmonthly.com
