If Iran is able to block wholly or partially the straight (how many blown up oil tankers would it take?):

GUDD Interest rates up, Canadian Oil Trusts Up. Oil Sands Up.
Silver Up. Palladium Up. Canadian $ Up.

These seem like the obvious plays.

If its short and quick, wont hurt US too much.

If long and drawn out with unanticipated results (like most wars) and Iran attacks Saudi/Quati/Iraqui oil fields or terminals...

Oil price could explode. In US fuel may become very expensive, rationed or unavailable -- depending.

If things really go to hell, dollar could tank. What would be alternative? Euro????
