I've been drinking a wine from Argentina called Casa Latina. It is cheap as all Hell but is (IMO) a great wine. A red with Shiraz and Temparillo.

I like the Bobby Kacher selections as well. Good values. I first found them in Sarasota where the Klubner family showcases them in their many fine restaurants/hotels including Michael's on East and The Colony. MP

My current fave bargain white is Gunderloch's Red Stone Riesling. Screw top, $8.99 at World Market. Lots of apricot notes with a nice acidity. Almost no residual sugar.

Gunderloch is a top German producer with many of their wines earning perfect 100 scores with the WS and others. There is no way to compare this wine to these paragons, but Red Stone is much better than it has to be. Money Penny

Speaking of a Rhone wine. We tried this about 2 years ago at a wine tasting party. The host and hostess ran a blind taste test......a sort of contest. We were all asked to bring a favorite white or red. The winner of the red contest was this selection. I recently found it at World Mart for $8.99. It's well worth the price and tastes even pricier.
