>>>I like the idea of moving the UN to Jerusalem. Maybe the world would take more interest in resolving the problems there. As for partitioning Iraq, I think that would be a can of worms.<<<

It's not just moving the UN to Jerusalem, but also opening a UN University of Diplomacy at the West Bank borders; and a UN peacekeeping training facility in the Golan Heights. This serves to buffer the problem areas; creates economic opportunity with jobs; and puts the emphasis where it needs to be: education rooted in helping to make the world a better place.

Regarding partitioning Iraq into two nations--a democratic nation to the north and a theocratic nation to the south--I think doing this pops the bubble of tension. The Shites, due to their strength in numbers, will overwhelm any political process if the country remains whole. However, should two-thirds of the present day Shites form into a new nation and one-third remain in the democratic nation, the apportionment of numbers between Kurds, Sunnis and Shites in the democratic nation would become closer making a national government possible, as each grouping would compete for the best ideas.

I also like the idea of the new Iraqi governments offering employment to Palestians to help rebuild Iraq.
