Interesting take.

Wouldn't be the first time that Hersh has been manipulated by intelligence agencies. Indian intelligence has done it beautifully in the past.

Unfortunately, I saw a report indicating that this gambit had been sniffed out by the Iranians already.

The problem is that if the theory set forth in your piece is is correct, it would have been much better to use a more credible journalist for the story.

On the other hand, what intelligence officer or skilled pol could resist the temptation to con Hersh into a stupid piece?

You want to see how much of a hack Hersh really is, check this site. Not even the Iranians are going to believe him.

Yeah, this is right in line with the "Bush is smarter than you think" meme.

Too bad that the government that will carry out Bush's "smarter than you think" ideas isn't "smarter than we think."
