Then you disagree with those Darwinians who claim the degree of altruism is dependent upon the degree of genes shared.

They are generally referring to social insects and the like where the entire information passed on to generations is though the genes. In general the degree of altruism is dependet upon the degree of information shared, and in humans that is often non-gene based.
