Blame Bush-Cheney. They lost the war despite our troops doing a marvelous job and a trillion dollars in US taxpayer money. Why did they lose? Because they started the war based on lies and false assumptions. Whenever you start a war based on a lie history shows you can never win, especially when the people in the land you're invading don't like you and want you out. Look at Vietnam, Algiers, Afghanistan for the Soviets, Hitler and Russia, Alexander in India, Napoleon, The Romans in Northern Europe, on and on. Imperialist invaders always get their butts handed to them when they go too far. Bush went too far too fast and without a realistic plan or purpose.
