I like the Orwellian tone of the Howard argument.

John Howard had to help invade Iraq because sanctions were not working.

Organizations like the Australia Wheat Board, which report to John Howard, were breaking the sanctions rendering them ineffective.

Since John Howard could not control himself, he has argued that the invasion of Iraq was the only available option.
