In the run-up to the war your side had the mainstream media well in your camp. Remember all of the Americans who thought Saddam committed the acts of 9/11,w when he didn't? Where'd that come from--mainstream media maybe? But now time has passed. And Bush and Cheney, et. al., have proved inept, cruel even. More and more American famlies are seeing their loved ones dying or becoming injured both physically and mentally (some for life)--all of this so that Bush can, in effect, help not only increase the animosity amoungst Arab youth against America (read: create more terrorists), but also help to establish a theocratic government, aligned with Iran's, to replace Saddam's once-secular government. Add into this fact that Bush is the only president in history to cut taxes in time of war, consider his manipulative and secretive policies concerning education, the environment, healthcare, labor, trade, immigration, science in general, look at the price we pay for gas compared to the profits of the energy companies, consider his judicial appointments, his free ride from a Congress that won't provide even the slightest oversight (they put baseball players under oath, but not oil company executives) and ... hey, you know what? I haven't even gotten to the corruption issue. You know what I mean. Whoops! I almost forget to mention. Bush and Cheney have managed to take America from a position where the whole world got behind our country and transitioned the spirit of this into the whole world hating our country. He won't even put the United States on the United Nations Human Rights Council, and he threatened to boycott the Worldwide Conference Against Rascism; he ruined the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, Kryoto, thinks the World Court is only good when it's convenient and he's established torture gulags in secret places (let's hope our soldiers don't get captured!). So in light of all of the above all you can think is that we have a problem with mainstream media. My friend, let me redirect you: Gold Star Mothers' woe for why and for who? You still like Bush and Cheney? If you do, then the blood of those mothers' children rests in your support. I couldn't urge you strongly enough to reconsider your position and look at reality as it really is and not in some mundame GOPwinger talking point that there is present some form of prejudice in the so-called mainstream media. Hey, I'm as left--a liberal in good standing, if you will--as they come, and I personally think the media's been horrible to the issues that truly concern people!
