Order Supplements Over 560 TASER X26 Previously Deployed for All Patrol Officers

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., April 19, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- TASER International, Inc. (NasdaqNM:TASR - News) today announced that it has received an order for 713 TASER(r) X26 devices and accessories to be delivered to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police in North Carolina.

``We are encouraged that one of the original agencies to deploy our TASER X26 devices in 2003 has continued to see a dramatic reduction in injuries to officers and suspects in their community,'' said Tom Smith, president and co-founder of TASER International. ``The trend of large progressive law enforcement agencies, such as Charlotte-Mecklenburg, that track and report their success with our life-saving TASER technology and eventually issue a TASER device to every officer, is something that we are continuing to see. We continue to provide one of the safest and most effective use of force options for the law enforcement community,'' concluded Mr. Smith.

``The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has enjoyed a very successful deployment of TASER X26 devices over the last several years,'' said Captain Mike Campagna of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. ``This order will help us to continue reducing injuries to officers and arrestees by providing complete TASER X26 coverage for all of our uniformed officers in the field,'' concluded Captain Campagna.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is one of the largest local law enforcement in the southeastern U.S. with over 1,400 sworn officers and was one of the first departments to issue TASER X26 devices to all of its patrol officers in May of 2003. This order supplements 560 TASER X26s previously deployed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police which allowed the rotation of TASER systems for all of its field patrol officers. Now, all field uniformed officers will be issued a TASER X26.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg purchase order totaled over $585,000 and is expected to ship in the second quarter of 2006.
