No, never noticed that. I do notice the audible alert going off when there's no news for my watch list. Happens maybe 10% of the time? Noticed it both yesterday and this morning, but it's been a long time standing. I'll shut down next time I hear the "empty gong" and reopen.

just got an audible alert with no news in the News Watch list. shut down SSP and reopened. still nothing new to account for the audible alert.
