You asked the question, but I don't see your facts to support your position? Let's just start with one area, air quality. Here's an archive of AQI in the US by metro area.

I now challenge you to find more than a few days where the AQI got up to "orange" (100) or unhealthy for sensitive groups, anywhere in the US in the last year. Red (150) and purple (200) are pretty routine in China, and maroons (300; hazardous) are getting more and more frequent. And off the map, over 500, which I was introduced to on a personal level (and you're welcome to check it out for yourself), are unheard of in western countries.

Global warming is the biggest threat of all besides the twin deficits of the US to worldwide prosperity.. Of course the idiots at the controls worry more about spreading democracy in Iraq..
