Pacific Crest analyst Mark Bachman, who has an "Outperform" rating on the stock said that even if the semiconductor unit cycle is at or near its peak, he believes Lam can continue to grow its market share in dielectric etch, a component of a semiconductor manufacturing sequence.

"We believe that Lam could increase its etch market share this year by 3 percent to 4 percent, largely at the expense of Applied Materials," Bachman wrote in a note.

Bachman raised his price target on the stock to $54 from $46.
