Bombing Iran would create a huge spike in oil prices. That helps Exxon, Halliburton, the Saudis, etc. Same people who benefit from the Iraq war. Almost everyone else loses, including US troops and the US taxpayers and consumers.

Incidentally, when Bushies help drive up oil prics they also help Iran and make it possible for them to buy any weapons they want.

Plus, in reality, the US has no credioble military option in Iran. Look at the map. It's a huge country and our forces are already stretched thin and unable to secure Iraq. Also, we would likely get no help from the rest of the world. We'd be going it solo, even though Iran would likely not ever even consider attacking the US.
