Thanks for suggesting we look at the results: 1) The US homeland hasn't been attacked in the four years since 9/11/01 despite terror leader's promises that more attacks would be forthcoming. 2) No Muslim government has fallen to the Islamist terror movement - known to be an important goal of the movement. 3) Two former terror supporting tyrannies have been overthrown - Afghanistan's Taliban and Iraq's Saddam Hussein. Elections and other steps toward democratic self-government are ongoing in both countries, in defiance of threats and attacks by terrorists. 4) Two governments which had enjoyed a de-facto truce relationship with the Islamist terror movement, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, have changed their policy and are now engaged in active, violent struggle against it. 5) Libya has allowed US inspectors to enter the country and remove WMD program materials to Oak Ridge TN for destruction. Libya's leader told a journalist the Iraq war influenced his decision.* 6) A new international anti-proliferation coalition has been formed, the Proliferation Security Initiative. A similar Container Security Initiative has been formed to increase the security of international container traffic. 7) The US has secured the 3,800 pounds of partially enriched uranium and 500 tons of yellowcake which Saddam had - a good thing since Saddam had never given up his long-term goal of developing nuclear weapons as found by the Duelfer report.
