Oh, but Peter, I did mention it...Heck, I used to have to do the mangling for my Mom....Hated that job, as it was usually nice outside where I lived as a kid, and it was MUCH more fun to play Red Rover, or Kick the Can, or Hide and Seek....

THEN bringing them in, before it rained, and folding them up, or sprinkling them, rolling them up, and leaving them for a few hours, so they would be ready to iron... or mangle.

My Dad owned an appliance store in Missoula, where they sold Ironrites, which is a form of mangler. sandsmachine.com When they built a TV broadcasting antenna on the top of Point Six (a serious mountain), we drove up and made some of the first commercials in Missoula. I was the first kid in Missoula to be on TV, and it was to demonstrate that Ironrites were so easy to use even a kid could do it.

My mother was expert with one and ironed all our clothes for years.
