why cant these folks apply to enter legally ? I fail to understand...

I keep hearing the excuse for not deporting the illegals is the expense, logistics, and ethical concerns of deporting 12 million.

Here's my suggestion for deporting 12 million illegals: find who is hiring them, enforce the law, and impose criminal penalties. If the illegals can't get jobs, they won't stay.

The problem is that we have allowed this problem to happen by looking the other way at American business hiring illegals. Make them verify, and impose enforced harsh sanctions on those that hire illegals. And for chrissakes don't give them welfare benefits.

perhaps they would have to wait forever if not trade or profession. their are many waiting years to get into states who have applied legally.. why should mexico jump ahead of the rest of world that wants to get into states.

most of them perhaps know they will never get into states on permanent basis unless they cross illegally.
